What company made this machine? It is in Oregon Portland Craigslist. It has a nice looking horn.

I could be totally wrong.. but isn't than an Emerson? I know they used Music Master horns in their cabinets.

My guess would be an Emerson too, but I'm not sure if they ever used that type of tonearm?

I agree with the previous answers - definitely has the Emerson looking horn. Maybe our fellow forum member "emerson" can chime in if he sees this post as he is extremely familiar with the Emerson product line.

However, something makes me think there are some other obscure off brands that used those Emerson horns, too.... Hmmm....

That tonearm looks like one of the scientific tonearms of the British Micro-Perophone Chromogram. It has good tracking angle and all that...

Well, I guess we'll have to wait til someone knows the correct answer. At first the horn gives the impression of an Emerson. The only center lid model that I have in an original catalog and own is either--- The Burgundy which I believe was the renamed in place of The Louis XV, when the company was sold. I have not seen a tonearm like that either on any Emerson I have in the collection. A gentleman around Pittsburg, Pa. had a gutted Strand cabinet on market place----identical to the Emerson Sheraton model (which I need tracings of the grill) he would not help with tracings even when offered payment and has not answered any messages. So how many Emerson machines are out there that are under a different manufacturer and renamed? Hope time will give the answer.

Looks European to me. Maybe Odeon? The tone arm is similar to the British one Inigo shows above but has some differences. Odeon made a "hatbox" gramo with a HUGE U shaped arm. The brake and speed control look Lindstrom- ish to me.

I emailed the seller and this is what they said:

"There isn't a decal, but there is a metal plate. I have included a picture of it in my listing."

That's more adding to the mystery! Which patents??? If we only had a patent number, we could search for it... Isn't there any inscription on the motor or something? We've to get this guy into showing us the guts of the machine...
The soundbox is unfamiliar, although it resembles somehow the Gilbert 'mother of pearl' soundbox...
Or someone might go there and disassemble the machine to take photos of the inner parts... or we're lost.
