What are some of the methods for brightening up the lettering on Exhibition or No.2 reproducer.. I know there must be some tricks out there.

As anyone tried gun bluing on the reproducer base (for lack of a better term) to dress them up prior to messing with the lettering?

I have never used this product, but others have used it to fill in the lettering on the letters on the steering column controls on certain cars.
