I figured I'd post this in here since it's about a musician.

I've just bought my train tickets to go and attend this event in London this April, organised by Memory Lane magazine. It's a tour around London of the locations that were significant in Bowlly's life - the Monsigneur Restaurant, Café de Paris, Savoy Hotel etc.

The afternoon sees a chat with film viewings and record requests - and a celebrity who knew Al will be giving a talk! I really cannot wait to go and meet some other British dance band and Bowlly enthusiasts.

I'll be sure to take my camera and take some photos for you all. Is anybody else from this board going perchance?

I've seen this advertised before and always wanted to go. Unfortunately uni, babies and work got in the way and I never made it. I doubt I'll make it now :) Be sure to report back as I'd love to know the details. There are pictures on line of his grave. Unfortunately he was buried in a mass grave and his name is one amongst many. I can't believe that some one as famous as him was buried in a mass grave - just goes to show how desperate he times were.

I have an interesting Bowlly story to tell and potentially an interesting lead on details of his life - rather than type it all out here I'll send you a FB message.
