Edison banner standard

Post by Diamonddisc1 »

Hi everyone
Could anyone provide me with a date on a banner standard with the serial number S337248
The 4 minute gearing is obviously a letter attachment.
Thank you :)

That's an early Model B - possibly about mid 1906, just before they dropped the banner decal.

This is a model B (the case is taller than model A).

As for the manufacturing date, I think it's impossible to know.

There is a user (George, phonogfp) which can tell you when the phonograph left the factory for being sold.

You can contact him and he'll tell you, he's very kind.

Just for your reference, I have a Standard model A with serial nr. 84720 and it left the factory in February 1903. So, I'd expect yours to be at least 3 years after this.

Edison Standard #337248 left the factory in August 1906. This was among the last with the banner decal.
