Well, this cabinet came to me recently. Looks like it was a dealer display case. Its 84" tall, 12" deep, and 31" wide. The bottom shelf is 24" deep. I know this is radio specific, but maybe one of you victor heavies could give me a ballpark or closer date on it. Regardless, it's going to be a nice display case for all of my phonograph related smalls. Thanks in advance and cheers to all.

From what I've been able to find, RCA began using the slogan "the most trusted name in sound" around 1957, so that probably dates from the late 1950s into the early/mid 1960s. Judging by the style of the cabinet, I'd say early 1960s is more likely.

I tend to agree with OrthoFan. Since the display board contains the words, "Transistor Portables," it can't really be any earlier than the late 1950s. Domestic (USA) transistor radios were a big deal in the late 50's/early 60's. My sister had a Philco, I had a Motorola, and later a shirt pocket GE. This was back when we believed "Made in Japan" equaled "Junk."

I'd say circa 1960 as well.
