I recently bought a Victor gramophone MS (Monarch Special). It misses the horn, though. Please help me to date this machine:
- Metal dog plaque with type MS and serial number 16440
- Paper sticker on bottom with hand-written matching serial number 16440 and price tag of $50
- Machine has a (damaged) decal with "Sold by Eilers Piano House Portland Seattle" (see picture). Notice it is not "Eilers Music House"
- Tonearm has volume control integrated in gooseneck (see picture)
- Exhibition sound box, serial number 100199
- Has a spring action lever needle tightener, instead of a thumbscrew (see picture).
Please help me date this machine. What horn was the machine sold with?
Thank you

WOW!!! I love the volume control and lever needle bar. It would typically come with a brass bell horn.

Wow, that whole machine is on my "one can dream" list. Love it! As already been stated, it would have originally come with a black japanned horn type H with13 ¾ diameter brass bell. Other horns could obviously be fitted at request.

Congratulations!
