Isn't the title, Midnight, the Stars, and You?

It is getting increasingly difficult to find anything with Al Bowlly, particularly if his name is listed on the label. I, too, would like this record. My wife is a massive Bowlly fan.

For the moment, I must be content with digital.

The song can be downloaded from here: https://www.albowlly.club/78s/midnight- ... d-you.html

I pointed this site -- https://www.albowlly.club/discography.html -- out to my wife. She is now also a Chunny fan! Many thanks to Chunny!

Al Bowlly records are relatively common, irrespective of having his name on the label or not, just search in UK eBay. The man made thousands of records, mostly anonymously (or at least without his name showing up on the record), for several English labels. Most lots of dance band records I bought in England had at least one Al Bowlly vocal, the latest being a HMV puzzle record, in which he sings one of the six songs. Ray Noble's recording of Midnight, The Stars and You is not particularly rare neither, but due to the Kubrick movie it became a collection item - and the only expensive Al Bowlly record. Just cough up $100 or so and there will be people ready to sell it.

Yes. I was not terribly specific in my use of the very generic word, "find."

What I should have said is that I do not find them here in bulk acquisitions anymore at all. However, in recent boxes of records, I did find three or four disks from late in Bowlly's all too short life which did not have his name listed on the label--this find was highly unusual.

I have found some in the past in Nauk's auctions way back when I was able to get them for a $3 minimum bid.

Generally now I do not find them inexpensively anymore anywhere.

But yes, you are completely correct--you can find almost anything if money is no object.
