Unusual Cylinder Cabinet

I've come across two of these cabinets in the past 20 years. Very heavy due to being solidly built of oak, with a metal drum at the center that holds a unique cylinder record "tree" that rotates 360 degrees. There is also a drawer at the bottom.
In any event, can anyone identify the maker, age, etc.?
thanks,
Raphael

I can imagine in its day some mischievous 5 year old getting in there and spinning it as fast as he could with broken wax cylinders all over the floor.
Is there a small notch to hold them in place or do they just stay in place by friction ?
Probably why there weren't too many around _ one would have to keep pushing the cylinders back in place even when used correctly.
The designer should have had the cylinder holds at an angle, just enough so they would stay in place.

No idea who made it but it's what I call a visual pun. The "cylinder cabinet" is both a cabinet for cylinders, as well as a cylinder which is also a cabinet.

I can imagine one of Columbia’s ornate cabinets sitting on top of this cabinet.

Well, there's always a reason to find faults in any design, but with this stuff the main thing is for the owner to enjoy it. Personally, I didn't like it and it never got past my warehouse and into my home. But the person that I delivered it to yesterday was over the moon about it.

I think it looks nice. Not nearly as nice as that cygnet horn though. That is one nice horn!

This is the closest antique furniture I've been able to find. Similar latch too.
