Unknown(?) Phono in the 1898 "Phonoscope"

Is it worth doing some research on an unusual cylinder phonograph that may not exist?
Probably most people who have browsed the ultimate Wish Book have wondered about the 'perfect and durable' $7 Euphonic on p. 3. Like its lookalike brethren, the Amet Echophone, it also had a glass tube for the tone-arm [see below].
But did it actually get made and sold? Anyone have (or ever see) one of these "ghost" machines?
