Hello everyone,

I have an Edison Standard (model A) with the original decal in amazing conditions. However, the wooden material all around would need a nice clean to shine again..

Could you suggest me how to do it without ruining the original decal? What kind of materials/solvents do I need?

Many thanks to all of you

I use GOJO hand cleaner (original no pumice) with 0000 steelwool. Liberal amount of the cream - rub lightly - wipe off with paper towel. Just use the wet towel on the decal and you should be fine. Finish with a coat or two of Howards wood feeder - maybe additional coats as it soaks in then wipe dry with a soft cloth.

Be SUPER careful around the decal. At best they had a very thin coat of shellac over them. They can be very easy to damage.

Good luck!

What Kent and Martin says is good advice, but it's always a good idea to post photos along with the questions. ;)

Gojo removes the grime and grease that has built-up on the surface. It's amazing what it takes off. I rarely use the steel wool unless there is stubborn dirt that paper towels and the Gojo will not easily remove.
