Question for those more knowledgeable than I, if you look at the sellers completed/sold listings, are those real values for the cylinder records? Or is there something weird going on with the bidding?

It was surprising to see those brown wax cylinders sell for such high prices, ranging from $900 to $8700 per piece, but those were surely the actual sales prices. These are extremely rare mid-1890s cylinders, produced by the North American Phonograph Company and the very earliest Edison-branded cylinders. Cylinders this old barely ever show up for auction. It is possible that some of these titles may have been previously unknown, or at least not in prominent collections until now. John Levin would likely have more information on this subject.
