Early use of Nipper on a disc?

I bought a few records at our local antique shop including this disc. Wasn't this image a very early use of Nipper on a Victor product? Comments appreciated.

Yes, that's the first "dog label" used by Victor ca. February 1902.

Berliner in Canada superimposed the trademark image in the record grooves about a year earlier.

It took The Gramophone Company until 1909 before Nipper appeared on the British record labels.
They were remarkably slow to appreciate the full potential of this iconic image.
