Good afternoon.

First, thanks to all who helped me with my Victor VV-IV. Problem solved and I do appreciate it.

I'm also working on an Edison 250.Image

I cannot determine whether this is a C250 or a W250. The cabinet resembles W250s I've seen on line but I'm not sure.

On the data tag, what does the number mean. Is it a serial number?

Thank you in advance.

Rene

As shown on the data plate, your machine is a W 19, which was simply a renaming of the W 250 (which occurred in April 1919). Edison documentation called these machines the "William & Mary."

The "9163" is indeed the serial number.

Thank you, George.

This machine works very well but needs a lot of cleaning. I am having difficulty getting the reproducer off the horn arm. I know it should just turn slightly to line the pin up with the slot and simply slide it off but I cannot get it to turn. I'm hesitant to use too much force because I certainly do not want to damage it. Any suggestions? I've only used my hands so far, no tools.

Thank you,
Rene

Put a bit of penetrating oil on the rotating/locking sleeve and let it soak for a few hours.
