Found this crank while rummaging through "stuff"-- Small crank with a square hole for winding shaft-- hole measures about 3/16" square. Any ideas???

Thanks Much-

Perhaps a winder for a long case clock?

The square hole and the more decorative handle tend to make me think it's a clock winding key...

Thanks Bill and Curt--
Clock makes sense- I followed your lead and searched clock cranks-- Many grandfather's clocks used similar size cranks--and nearly all I found had square shafts. It was also suggested to me that it may be for a music box---

I have a "clock friend" that I'll send pics to and see what he says.

Thanks-
Brad

I found a Mira music box online that had a similar looking/size crank-- I don't know if the shaft was square as it was inserted into the machine in the picture-
Hopefully I can find a definitive answer- Thanks!!
