Good morning I have a question, I just saw one of these 0n e-bay the last bid was$1009.00 Are they really this rare?

No. And all but the first few were dubs from diamond disc masters. They *are* in demand, but not *that* in demand, unless there's some "unicorn" out there news of which hasn't reached my ears.
Hey, but since we're in the "music trader" section, anybody here have a copy of 29002 that's looking for a home? That's Alessandro Bonci singing "Una furtiva lagrima." I have the other four from his purple amberol series, but that one has eluded me. I'm not picky if it's purple or a blue later issue.
Yeah, I know: "Oh, yes, I have a copy. I'll sell it to you for $1009."

Sutton's book on blue amberols indicates that this is the only royal purple cylinder dubbed from a diamond disc where the diamond disc was not released.

The only dubbed Purple Amberol that came from an unissued DD is "Valse Sentimentale" played by Albert Spalding.The Bonci was a direct recording.edisonplayer.

I've seen some on sale on eBay for fifty dollars, 100 dollars, and 200 dollars.
