Rubber motor mounts for Decca 130

I have a Decca 130 suitcase gramophone, it has Garrard 20 motor, a bit strange as I heard these usually have 2 spring motors. But regardless, it has rubber motor mount grommets between the motor and the metal deck thing (not sure what this is called). These are old and rock hard. Should I replace them? If so, any tips on what to use?

I’ve attached a pick of one of these grommets, circled in blue

I probably would replace them, though your milage will vary as to how much motor noise is reduced.

I usually use tap or faucet washers, though flat neoprene washers can also be stacked up to achieve a similar effect.

Tap washers are too hard for the job.

Agreed, tap washers are too hard. I've used those rubber grommets that are used on metal electrical socket boxes. They worked well.

That's a good idea. Yes, better than tap washers as I agree it would be better if they were a bit softer.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies. I will look for the grommets for electrical metal boxes. I do wonder if this will help quiet motor noise. It’s fairly quiet as it is.
