You are absolutely correct.

Everytime a record changed, on any coin-operated phonograph the starting positiong and in most (Columbia BS and a couple others excepted) the ending position set up for the new cylinder playing length. On Hexaphones, you have to set the ending to the longest playing cylinder on the carousel of 6 cylinders. Therefore, if you add a longer playing cylinder than the other five, or take off the longest playing cylinder and put on a shorter playing one, you should change the ending position on the Hexaphone.

Coin-ops were then, and actually are now, labourious at times!!
