Hello all, Currently working on a victor R I bought from Grant K. (Fonotone here on the forum) and am in need of a winding gear and three new governor springs. I am aware that the phonograph shop sells them, but figured I'd ask on the groups as well. The winding gear is stripped, so unfortunately it seemed to be unusable. When the machine was together, the gear refused to hold the pawl in place. resulting in the crank turning backwards. In addition, the governor springs are in sorry shape, with one snapped. I would prefer to replace them all. Since Mr. Parlier sells the winding gear, I am especially wondering about the springs.
Thanks everyone!

Can you post a picture of your winding gear? If it isn't too bad, you could file new edges on the worn teeth.

Thanks for the message, Ken, I'll open the machine up tommorow when I'm back home and get a picture of the gear.

That's not the winding gear, it's the ratchet, or ratchet wheel.

Thanks for the clarification, Jerry. So the winding gear is the gear that is attached to the spring barrel cap?

The winding gears are the small one on the spring barrel and the gear that meshes with it, on the end of the winding shaft.
