FOR SALE: Columbia AQ Graphophone $245

Here’s a Columbia AQ that is begging for a restoration. The motor is in great running order. The spring is strong and easily plays through a 2 minute record. The stylus is fine and sounds as good as you could expect. It appears that at some time the base and horn were painted a dull black and no striping or decals were ever applied. The horn support/pivot plate is a soft casting that is in poor shape and missing a piece. I used some JB-Weld to put part of it back and used an oversized washer to affix the other side. It’s ugly, I know but it functions. The holes in the horn have not been modified. I don’t know of reproduction parts availability. Maybe someone can reply. Hopefully someone out there would like to save it from being a parts donor by giving it a good restoration. Gregg Cline can supply the decals at Phonodecal.com
