Not sure if this is the right section to ask but is there any documentation of when the lever needle bars were introduced and discontinued on the Exhibition reproducers? I have seen them on both the long throat and regular Exhibition reproducers.

The Exhibition lever needle bars were an extra-cost ($1.00) option, so they can be found on virtually any Exhibition. See page 66, Fig. 2-28 in Phonographica by Fabrizio & Paul.

Thanks for the reply. I will have to check that out. Seems like an expensive upgrade for the time.

I agree - that may be why they're somewhat scarce!

Ken,

As additional information, this needle bar was shown available in this July 1907 Victor repair parts catalog! - E24.

Also note E21 - This is the adapter, also seldom found today, that allowed an Exhibition to be used on a Victor Jr.

Thanks for the additional information. I wonder what the difference is between the needle bars E8 and E9. The Victor Jr. adapter is quite scarce. I have only found one in over 40 years.

Assembly drawing E23 shows the thumbwheel rotated 90 degrees from the lever needle bar shown on assembly drawing E24.
I assume E8 is for the thumbwheel. E9 is for the lever needle bar.
Seems to be a hole shown in E8 while not (?) on E9 ?

was the Victor Jr adapter ever reproduced? That sure would be a hot item if available.

Your assumptions are correct.
