Presenting the first ever fibreglass EMG Mk IX horn, a project I'm incredibly pleased to share. This one builds on all the experience I've gained building and developing my horn making skills over the past two years, and I couldn't be any more pleased with it.

The originals might sag or snap, but these sure won't! Here's a video of it singing, and you be the judge of it's sound quality:

Once I'm done finishing up the cosmetics, this one is going to complete a lovely EMG Mk IX which came with a missing horn, giving it another chance at singing again. Another commission is already in the works, keeping my hands busy into spring :D

Manificent achievement Ahmed---many congratulations ! The sound is wonderful and it is so good to bring a lonely base unit back into the performing world. Well done indeed !

Much appreciated both! I'm really glad to be able to provide a second chance for all the poor Mk IX based with a missing or seriously damaged horn, and will continue to make these on comission to anyone that needs a horn to complete an instrument.

Wow! You never cease to amaze, Ahmed! Were I not on the other side of the pond, I would buy one so I could travel stress-free with my Mark IX!

A really great accomplishment - wish I had a machine with your horn. How long does it take to make a horn on commission?

Many thanks indeed!

It takes around 4-6 weeks to complete one on commission, depending on other projects I have at the time as well as the required finish

Very impressive, Ahmed! Have you tried making a horn for one of the Expert range?

Many thanks!

Funny enough I was pondering that same question! I've not done it as there hasn't been the need so far, but certainly worth the effort if it would help someone resurrect an otherwise hornless Expert
