Fellow Forum Members:

For your consideration, here's a very nice and rare MOBLEY Long-throat reproducer. This reproducer would have been an aftermarket reproducer added to any front-mount phonograph and marketed thru Hawthorne & Sheble around 1905. I believe this reproducer to be much rarer than the cylinder machine reproducers of Mobley. It is discussed and illustrated in the "Antique Phonograph Gadgets, Gizmos, and Gimmicks" book by Fabrizio and Paul on Page 77.

The reproducer is in excellent original condition with the iconic Mobley bright red ribbed diaphragm. The reproducer is complete including a sophisticated needle bar. The patina on the brass is just right and displays beautifully. It does not appear that the reproducer has ever been rebuilt. The diaphragm gaskets look original. See photos for condition detail. The back gasket is holding the long throat tight against the body. Without removing it, I think it says "MANUFD UNDER MOBLEY...something something...1900" "OTHERS PENDING". I am showing it on a period correct Zonophone Eclipse. Of course, the Zonophone is not included in the sale and is for demonstration purposes only.

Where you going to find another this nice? With the bright red diaphragm, this is a great display addition to your front-mount phonograph or accessory collection.

Moved to Ebay. Please search for it there.

Thanks
Mark
