An Early Nipper Collectible

This Nipper collectible was made in or shortly after the year 1900 by order of Deutsche Grammophon AG in a small workshop in Germany, perhaps as an advertising specialty. It is not marked.
Both Nipper and the trademark gramophone are nicely sculpted (you can even count Nipper's ribs), cast from lead and afterwards painted. Funnel and needle(?) cup are executed in brass. Size of the wooden base plate is 3" x 7".
Very similar examples are listed under "Early Three Dimensional Nipper Souvenirs" on page 46 of "The Collectors Guide To His Master's Voice Nipper Souvernirs" by Ruth Edge and Leonard Petts.
