Here we have a selsom seen, some might sare rare, Horn Carrying Case. These cases were advertised in many early cataloges, such as the following page from a Weymann and Son catalog, and sold to protect your phonograph horn during transit.
Made of very heave pressed coth and cardboard and reinforced by metal, these cases are robust. This particular case is in excellent condition, all original condition, retaining the leather handle, leather lid hinge, functional clasp, and felt interior. It can accomodate horns up to 30".
Based on the limited surviving examples, these were much more easily discarded than the horns they were designed to protect.
