This gentleman from the Salvation Army has his Edison Standard equipped for a concert, using a large horn on a stand.
No doubt the music which he has selected for his audience will be wholesome and uplifting.

I am not a huge fan of 'Salvation Army' type recordings but I do have a few early Zonophone /Regal 78 records which are, to me, amazing. I can't remember the exact titles but things like 'Bringing In The Sheaves, Down By The River, Hold The Fort' etc. They 'stop me in my tracks' and I am truely transported back in time, so to speak, when I hear them.

Anyway, I wonder. There seem to be some covered up cylinder holes in the lid and 'base' areas and I wonder what these are. Maybe they are unused holes and if you want to place a cylinder in there you have to peel back the covering ?

Oh, and maybe those covered compartments were where he kept his hidden whiskey flasks? Ahem!
