I recently found a nos Honest Quaker no. 27 spring with a phonograph I bought . The box is in bad shape but the spring is new it has keyhole shape hole on end and a pear shape for arbor end, and a Q stamped on one end . Can’t find much on what phonograph this spring is for. Anybody have any info on these springs?

The Honest Quaker catalog says, " for Madison, Excellent, German motors, etc. with special pear shaped holes."
About what the box states. Not overly helpful...

importantly, the box states the measurements, if the box corresponds to the spring, easily checked. that gives the clue to the actual use of the spring. there must be a table with spring measurements... Meadows and Passmore have some indications in their spring catalogue. Old parts lists may also be available, or any versed member could come in and help you to fix the answer...

Honest Quaker used to advertise heavily in Talking Machine World. I suspect they were a supplier to independent manufacturers and repair shops.

It really just appears to be that your spring was not a popular size, thickness, or length combination and was limited to the short list of makes that the carton references. If it fit in any of the popular makes, the HQ catalog would certainly state them.

Hi DanP58 and everyone else,
Please find below pictures of two, dealer, main spring charts from my collection. DanP58, according to the Honest Quaker chart your spring (number 27) is good for Madison and German machines --- just as your spring's box states. Thanks Curt for also posting the Victor chart you have! I can't imagine many of these original dealer charts have survived!
