Well, here are a few pics of some interesting (mainly Euro) parts and pieces. Not certain if I should buy any of this or just stand there and cry!!!.......

. I think I may take the Paillard reproducer as it is a later "ortho" type. Anyone, seen one of these???.

I must have missed this thread somehow, but I have 2 machines that use the same Paillard soundbox- my little electric Paillards portable, and an aussie made Sublime upright.
They're not a bad sounding reproducer actually. Not as good as a Victor or HMV ortho, but pretty much in line with Brunswicks version.
I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of the needle bar design on these. The "pivot" seems far too stiff for my liking which might lead to excessive record wear, but I haven't used my 2 machines enough to really confirm this.
Thorens used exactly the same arrangement on their Rexophonic soundbox made for Rexonola, and these do cause record wear, but then the Thorens box is heavier than the Paillard box, so I'm not sure if it's the weight, the needle bar or a combination of both that are to blame.
One thing both brands boxes that use this design have going for them is volume. They are mighty loud!
Did you end up buying it?
Here's my little Paillard portable in action just in case you didn't. It doesn't sound half bad considering the poorly designed & leaky simple horn design used.
