It’s nice isn’t it. A Chippendale Decca Cellarette.

Yes cheaper!

Looking at the sellers other items I wonder if he meant to price it at £5000 and not £500. He’s asking £750 for a 1920s trolley.

His furniture is nice but in the current market £22,000 seems a little hopeful for a sideboard.

A Deccalian "Chippendale" style Boudoir gramophone made by Barnett Samuel (Decca) in 1922. Yes, they are far more elegant than the same machine shoe-horned into a wine cellerette with infill side panels and due to this model actually being catalogued we know it is genuine. Also, there are at least a dozen survivors known to exist to me.

I have two identical in my collection, one from the Late Roger Thorne sale, and they are currently rather conveniently (mis)used as bedside tables!

It has a unique way to disguise the crank hole... I love it.

Surely you are not still casting doubts as to the authenticity of my Deccalian, despite being the underbidder at it's sale.
All you doubters are in for a big surprise when the results of my research are published in the next CLPGS magazine.
