Help with Eagle B reproducer

I picked up this nice shape Columbia today, but the reproducer stylus bar is not attached to the mica. Were they glued down to the mica, or just how were they attached? If glued, what is a good type of glue to use? Also, it was missing the belt cover. Does anyone know where to get one of those or does anyone have one for sale? I also need the little screw to tighten the reproducer on with. Thanks for any advice or help you may provide.

Hi Dave,
Regarding the reproducer collar screw that you need, Brian Parlier at The Phonograph Shop will be carrying them after about this Friday. I know this because I am now making reproductions of these and I'm shipping Brian some on this Tuesday.

Your Columbia Eagle looks to be in very nice condition! Great find. Many Columbia B’s are found with the belt covers missing and so they are in demand. The belt cover and two screws will be pricey. I would contact an EBay seller who goes by the name
Crockinfrog. He sells a lot of Phonograph parts. I bought a belt cover off him some 10 years ago. I think it cost me $75.

Thank you for that info. He was the one selling the cover today, but it was sold before I got there. How about the the reproducer stylus bar, how were they attached to the mica? Was a glue or what could I use to attach mine back to the mica?

Before you glue the stylus bar to the diaphragm, replace the gasket and clean the mica and the stylus bar.
Originally, these were affixed to the diaphragm with a drop of shellac, which works well as a repair. I and others have also used super glue with good results. Fingernail polish remover will also remove the super glue should it become necessary.
