Here is a rarity, a Canadian SIV HMV Type E machine, one badly restored/butchered--Restor-O-Butchered TM.

It has an SIV HMV logo under the lid where the original finish was left, and it has an SIV branded reproducer.

Of driveby, lookiloo interest only, I would think.

It’s always an extra nice touch when they meticulously work around the under-lid decal, so as to assure that the viewer can see how thoroughly they stripped the finish from the rest of the cabinet.

A fellow CAPS member points out that this machine is a bit suspect. A Type or Style E SIV machine was a tabletop model, and it did not have the same grill as the one here. The grill shown here is from a Type C. He hypothesised that someone adapted a tabletop machine.

Being informed of this all, I started to look more closely at the bottom cabinet. The top cabinet for the machine and horn and the bottom cabinet are of different types of oak. Also the woodwork is of a much higher skill level in the top cabinet.
