Odd Edison disc conversation

Not sure what to make of this. It looks like the tonearm might track a lateral cut record, but it's probably an awkward solution. I've seen other adapters, but never one like this.

Can anyone identify the Frankenstein tonearm and reproducer?

It's one of dozens of different adapters that allow you to play lateral cut records on an Edison.

I've never seen that one. I'm assuming you can't engage the feed screw when you use this adapter.

Its a Fletcher DD Attachment.

Sold in the late teens, this allowed you to play regular 78s rather than Edison DD records. Yes, the feedscrew engages when played and they work well. As Jerry said, its one of many companies that made these for the Edison DD starting in 1914.
