Thank you for sharing this, George. I don't know that I've ever seen a picture of Thomas Macdonald until today. A gentleman who deserves a great deal of respect.

I purchased an original Columbia document so I could scan the photo of Macdonald. The guy guy was a very talented engineer, but must have been camera-shy!

Thank you for posting the information and picture of Thomas Macdonald.
Several years ago I found this early 1895 American Graphophone letter possibly signed by Macdonald, who at this time was the Manager of the American Graphophone Co. and Edward Easton was VP. I believe this was before Columbia became the marketing arm of the American Graphophone Co.
Also note this is while the American Graphophone Co was located in Washington D.C. and you can see all the famous names of Graphophone History.
