I recently made a trade for a Panola wind up player from possibly 1930. All I could find on that was about James K Polk, Inc, Atlanta Georgia. Were these machines low-end in their day? I can't find much else on it other than this article in an issue from The talking machine world from 1928

Can't say much without a photo. Most likely, it's one of hundreds of small manufacturers.

Based on the components --tonearm, sound box, etc., I'd say it's probably from the late 1930s, or even post WWII.. It's similar in design to all the other off-brand portables produced at the time.

The models cited in the ad you posted, judging from their prices, we're full size cabinet models. Most likely, this is a different brand alltogether. When I have time, I'll do some more research.
