Indestructible model N reproducer

This reproducer was in the carriage of my Edison Gem B when I found it in the wild; the original Edison C reproducer was, presumably, long gone. I have never seen one of these before, or even heard of one; have you? Can anyone tell me anything about it?
Thanks!

Indestructible not only made cylinders they also made reproducers. The model N has a spring loaded stylus bar putting more pressure on the indestructible cylinder resulting in greater volume. They also made reproducers for the Regina Hexaphone.

Thanks, Rich! Do you think something like this might damage a black wax cylinder?

DON'T use the Indestructible reproducer on wax cylinders.

Thanks, George. I'll be sure not to. I wonder why (and when) someone put it in their Gem?
Are these reproducers fairly common? I'd never heard of them before.
