For the whole of yesterday 14th August I was unable to log in. Today I can. Has anyone else been similarly affected?

Yes, there was an issue that Mordeth fixed very quickly once he became aware of it.

I experience more general problems which sometimes affect logging in and out and posting, and sometimes even just accessing the site.

There is sometimes great latency through the Internet to my router which renders the site here completely non-functional to me. It is not generally persistent.

I can go through a proxy, Toronto, Chicago, Oslo, London, Manchester, or whatever, and things work better. So the issue is not my ISP and not the website here.
