I picked up a nice little VV-IV a while back and looked forward to servicing the single spring motor. I've restored several Victor motors. The spring barrel is usually held in place by a set screw that can be removed, and the shaft slides out releasing the barrel. This one does not have a set screw, and the shaft has been machine crimped into place. Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas?

The shaft will slide out from that end, after the gear* and winding shaft has been removed. Post a picture from above, showing the area between the spring barrel and the winding gear. That may show how the shaft is retained**.

*Meaning, the gear that's on the shaft where the crank threads in, not the gear on the barrel arbor. Or, in other words, the gear that held on with the setscrew.

**There may be a setscrew there, coupling the arbor with a collar that protrudes from the spring barrel.
