Diamond B vs Model O reproducer sound test

I just got this Model O back from Wyatt Marcus and needed to hear it. (I know this is not the right machine to try to mount an O in but it is all I have operating.) Sound is louder than the B and the high notes certainly more prominent. Wyatt told me it is the finest sounding O he has ever worked on. The B may be unrestored in which case the comparison is not quite fair. I am VERY pleased with the sound. The record is great too.
Changing the subject a bit, I always wonder why to my ear the closed-horn Amberolas sound better than the open-horn machines. Given the reduced horn size they are quite remarkable. The sound is clearer. And there must be at least some agreement on this forum since I recall a few months ago a newbie being recommended to purchase an Amberola 50 for the best sound of the acoustic era.
