FOR SALE: CIRCASSIAN WALNUT VICTOR L-DOOR PROJECT - $1250

I have decided that I am not going to try to restore this machine. It's an early circassian walnut Victor model B L-door machine. I picked it up with intentions of bringing it back to life but I've lost interest in the project.
When I got it, it had been converted to a beverage cabinet. Some cutting was done to the top board and interior cabinet. The pictures will show this. I have sourced out the missing wood pieces thru several members here and thru some connections. The replacement wood pieces I have will complete the cabinet, but they are mahogany so they will need to be sanded, bleached and stained to match the brown color of the machine. I even found the correct motor board that sits on top of the top board but again is mahogany. The board will cover most of the cut away portion of the top board, but a little will show (⅛") on the right side. If you have wood skills, that can be filled and stained to match and would make it mostly un-noticeable.

Also included is the complete horn assembly (wood and metal portion), very nice tone arm and bracket, drawer and most importantly the correct motor. The motor will wind up but won't unwind on its own so I suspect it has a spring issue.

I've taken lots of pictures to show what I have explained above. The outside finish is original and untouched. This would make a nice project for the right person and would look great when finished and at a great price for this rare machine.

Asking $1250 for everything pictured. The only parts needed are a gold reproducer, brake, speed control, lock assembly and crank. Maybe $200ish. That makes this about a $1400 project plus your time and when finished is a great price for one of these machines. Just mostly wood working on your part and the end result will be a showcase piece in your collection.

I can deliver to Stanton's in November.

Ask any questions or inquire to buy.

I've got the horn from an oak "L" door. I don't think the bell part of the horn is really oak but the color is much better than the red mahogany horn. Something to consider for the new buyer.

I'll consider offers on this rare machine. PM me with offers.

Almost all is included to complete the machine. Time and wood crafting skills can bring this beauty of a machine back.

I can bring this to Stanton's in November.

Can someone help Bob? Is anyone going to Stanton's in November then going close to North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee or South Virginia area that could transport this machine and meet him?

Contact either of us if you can help and we can work out details and fees.

Thanks

Mike

uship quotes were way more than either of us (and most millionaires) were willing to pay. lowest quote was more than the advertised price of the machine.

So we will go to the top again in case someone didn't see this or knows someone who can help.

Is anyone going to Stanton's in November then going close to North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee or South Virginia area who could transport this machine (for a fee) so that it could be brought back to life? If you can or know someone please reach out to me or Bob. Thanks.

Just wanted to post update on the machine. It's not perfect but I think it turned out OK.
