Offbrand Phonograph making loud noise

I got this local brand phonograph from fb marketplace and it runs very loud. it's completely oiled so that can't be the problem with it, it also should be noted the noise stops when the turntable is removed and/or if the entire motor assembly is removed from the cabinet. my theory on this is that the cabinet and the turntable act as a way to amplify the sound and there isn't any way to fix it. I wouldn't know though, I'm not very experienced.(Video 1)

Another problem I'm having with it is that when the spring is close to being fully unwound, there's a super loud groaning sound coming from the motor, and the turntable slows down to almost a halt when theres still a bit more left in the spring. also the same as the first issue where it stops once the turntable is removed(Video 2)

There are also some weird creaking sounds when the motor is just starting up, but I couldn't capture those on video this time.

Because of how well the rest of the phonograph works, i think it also could be a spring issue, which would make sense as the spring skips around occasionally so it definitely needs to be fixed.

Any help is appreciated, thank you in advance!

A wild stab in the dark here ....

How much clearance is there between the platter and the motorboard/deck?

I have had similar problems where I have had to tweak the rubber/felt washers between the motor and the motorboard and vary the tension on the mounting screws so that the motor shaft is perpendicular to the motorboard and the platter is in a plane horizontal to the motorboard.

I just checked and it is only resting on the spindle

These aren't the best pictures since I'm not home at the moment, I'll get some more when I get back (hour or so)

Nothing really jumps out there. Are all the gear teeth on good condition? No burrs on any teeth, or mashed over teeth due to past rough handling? How about the teeth on the fiber worm wheel that drives the governor? Those are often chewed up.
