I've always liked Vogues. I have quite a number but I've never found one in the wild (in a stack of fifty cent 78s). Where did you find yours? Jerry Blais

By the way, anyone know how they made this picture discs? I always tried to find out, but didn't do well.
I wouldn't dare to play these things with steel needles, but I wonder what would happen to them - the image would be flaked off?

Well considering these discs were made between 1946-1947. They are not meant to be played with a steel needle. They work better on machines from the time period, or even modern equipment. EX: audio-technica AT-PL120. As far as I can tell, its a picture sealed in clear vinyl. They do play at 78 rpm.

These are great to collect I have about 8 different ones, this one you have I have. I always loved the artwork on these. Sometimes you will see box sets of these on the bay forsake, they are not cheap. They have a book you can but that lists every single vogue. Let's see that playing on YouTube.

Great records---very colorful and easy to spot in a stack of otherwise all-black 78s. I've always enjoyed stumbling across these from time to time. Have seen some that were dups that were a bit lighter in color than others, which I assumed was from leaving them out in the sunlight too long. Or were they just a different print run? Never could be sure, but held off displaying them lined up along the walls for this very reason. But---they do make a nice display item. Great finds, Paul and Danny!
