Columbia Q question.

i just got a columbia Q at the Wayne show, and the motor is really loud, is there anything i can do about that? also on the left hand side there is a know with a spring sticking out of the side, what is that and how loose should it be? thanks :)

Sounds like the knob you’re talking about is the speed control . For the noise a good cleaning and lubricating might help .

The knob with the spring behind it is the speed control. It's not a matter of it being loose or tight, just a matter of it being set to the right speed.

As to it being loud, since we can't hear it, it's difficult to say what's amiss and how it can be fixed.

There’s no video, I use sewing machine oil
