That is a really nice phone in excellent condition. The cool thing is that it can be hooked up to a Bluetooth converter and make calls through your cell phone - you don't need a landline to use it.

A candlestick phone can be connected to a cell phone using a Bluetooth gateway or by modifying the phone to add modern technology. Like everything else, YouTube has videos about doing this and the gateway is not expensive. It converts the rotary pulse tones to digital and dials through your cell.

Can you receive calls on the candlestick by that method? Does the subset still ring? What actually powers the phone? (Sorry for the thread drift)

I believe this is along the lines of what Curt is describing: https://www.amazon.com/Cell2jack-Cellph ... B089984QRT. There are other devices out there that will work, but this is very reasonably priced and does the job.

I have used one of these for, variously, my W.E. desk stand (like the one for sale here), as well as a W.E. 202 desk set. Both had subsets (ringer boxes), and both rang perfectly with the Cell2Jack setup. It's amazing that I can even dial out calls. This little device works well.

And that is one very nice telephone for sale, Shawn, at an extremely fair price. Someone snap this up! They aren't going to get any more plentiful . . .

The Cell2Jack is what I initially referenced, but there are several other options that people have used successfully. And, YES, that phone is extremely nice and works well with your phonograph collection to create ambience.

It's actually WD-48 - 2 wire telephony is run on 48 volts DC

I did something similar to what Curt is talking about with my 1940’s rotary. I replaced the landline cable and ordered the Xlink BT off Amazon. The phone plugs into the Bluetooth box and the box is powered by the wall. My phone automatically connects to it and I can dial out and receive phone calls on it. It works great!
