I am looking to see if anyone is interested in this Edison Phonograph. It is the rare, school version and the images should tell the story. It is located in Pensacola, Fl. Take a look and feel free to ask any questions.

Interesting that it seems to be in a camera store.

Way over my personal budget for this hobby, and on the other side of the country, but this is my first time seeing an Edison Schoolhouse here.
I imagine wheeling this thing into the classroom caused about as much hype as bringing in the TV to watch Bill Nye did when I was in school, lol.

It is in a camera store because I mainly deal in vintage cameras. Got this in an estate that had some cool cameras as well. As far as the price goes, I am taking offers. This isnt my wheel house. I dont expect top dollar but I am looking for a fair price. Will talk on the phone: store number is 850-476-2697. I am Rob.

Having the stand is the key. Recent auctions had machines without stand go for $2,200. - $3,400. Including buyer premium WITHOUT the Stand. Only about 2 years ago Stanton Auction sold one for $8,600. including premium WITH the Stand. Very desirable phonograph.
I wonder how many Forum members have one.. … I sure Don’t…..

Years ago I purchased an Edison School machine without the stand and considered myself very fortunate. Some time later we were in Southern California for the old CAPS Show. We had some free time and we had an invitation to visit Harold Sprague's outstanding collection. One of his prizes was an Edison School machine with the base. When he found out I had the machine but lacked the base he asked if I knew someone that could replicate the base. At the time there was a fellow on the West Coast that was marvelous with both wood and metal. When I made this known to Harold he offered his original stand and only asked that it be returned the following August. I will always be thankful for that kind and generous offer. Thank you Harold Sprague!
