The record duster was from Cappuccilli's furniture store in Sonora, Arizona. Sonora was founded in 1906 and housed Mexican and Syrian copper mine workers and their families. Today, the land bears no trace of it. It was one of three small towns consumed by the open pit Ray Mine, the mine they worked.

It was in Nuack's most resent auction. I'm in Tucson and thought it would be interesting to have in my collection. I did not have the winning bid.

My grandma's town, Gallarta in the north of Spain, near Bilbao, was also eaten by the mines, actually moved to adjacent areas as the pit advanced.

I did wonder what a Triumph Herald was doing in Arizona. Were they sold in the US?

Antiques in general are more than pretty objects. They have a life worth exploring. I've always enjoyed knowing more about these things. Sometimes the information sticks in my head and I can add a historical context to it in a conversation.
