Dear Friends, From my father's vintage collection is this Columbia model 140 gramophone phonograph. It has been tested and is working, seems to have good sound and tone, however, I'm the farthest thing from an expert in this field. It is in relatively good condition given its age. There is some wear and tear to the outer case covering and the handle seems to be missing part of it, perhaps a leather insert?? According to notes left by him it came to him missing the pull out drawer which he started to restore but didn't finish. Comes with the Dorothy Shay record sets pictured but each is missing one of the records. Shipped to the US only, pickup available at 02857 Rhode Island.

My late friend Arthur Pare told me that he once had a Columbia portable that had a very intricate shut off device.He could never get it to work right.I wonder if his portable was a New Columbia from 1924? edisonplayer.

I have no idea how it works but the shutoff is built into the speed selector lever at the left front corner.
