Hi Folks,

I am am looking to buy Edison Mexican and Cuban cylinders, cylinder boxes and ephemera in good to excellent condition. Canción recordings (i.e. not banda/Marching band/Police band) are of particular interest. fyi - Canción recordings mostly present a lyrical and/or instrumental expression. I have attached an example from the UCSB cylinder archive. This was recorded around 1904 when Edison sent representatives to Mexico City to record, market cylinder phonographs (including strapping a Edison Home with a 24 inch horn to a donkey, yes really) and to make a gold-plated "presentation" phonograph to President Diaz that included a kind personal letter from Thomas Edison.

Edison 18000 and 19000 series - 2 minute black wax (Mexican and Cuban)

Columbia 40000 Series - 2 minute Gold Moulded black wax (likely only Mexican)

Edison 6000 Series - 4 minute wax Amberols (likely only Mexican)

Edison 1200 Series - 2 minute Blue Amberols (likely only Mexican)

Edison 22000 Series - 2 minute Blue Amberols (likely only Mexican)

I am not sure if Edison ever released any Cuban Blue Amberols.

I am sure there are exceptions......i.e. some records were released in the 20000 series.

If you have items you are willing to sell/trade, contact me via email or phone.....no PM please.

Thanks, Ken
