Brass horn info needed.

Post by Kiwi »

Info needed on this Gramophone Brass horn
The horn fitting is slightly smaller than my other HMV gramophone horns.

In my opinion this is a continental horn that may not be limited to one maker but rather several. I would use it on any continental machine it suits although I have seen similar horns particularly on machines sold in France.

Thank you I appreciate that.
It’s so helpful to find out.
This. Is why this forum is magical for people like me as being quite isolated in New Zealand
Unfortunately I only have HMV over horn Gramophones.
The neck fitting is slightly smaller than a HMV so this one is of no use to me.
It’s a shame as it’s a good horn

Personally, I'd buy it even if I don't need it because it is a very good condition original horn. Not so long ago we never or rarely saw a single horn turn up that was an original and in good shape. We never know what might turn up these days and I'm sure it would find a home on a machine eventually.
