Somebody (not me) will have a really good answer on this. My understanding however is that HMV/The Gramophone Company machines had US made ones until about 1919 when a production line was opened in the UK.
I believe the writing on your one indicates it was US made, but for export.

My thinking would be that if it weren't correct, then what would be? What other reproducers might have been offered, in other words?

This exhibition should be correct for most Gramophone Company machines between around 1909-1918. You’re Intermediate Monarch is probably around 1910-12 if it marked with a transfer-decal with the intermediate name.
As a simple guide your exhibition comes after the Gramophone & Typewriter marked exhibition. So your exhibition would be too late for a G&T machine but likely correct for an HMV badged machine before 1919.
