Edison Triumph D

Recently picked up an incomplete Triumph model D which needs it's carriage complete=( the horizontal version) to fit Diamond model reproducers, in a pinch the other carriage to take standard "C" & "H" reproducers would be good. I made some half nuts last week in 100TPI that fit the screw thread carriage advance but I'm not sure where the screw fixings are located. I'm new to these machines so please excuse my terminology. Thanks.

Curious to know if you used the correct thread profile which is a buttress thread. A typical 60° thread profile will not work under load. Ask me how I found this out….

The horizontal carriage seems to pop up on Ebay. I am not sure it is correct for your machine.

That horizontal carriage would also hold a Model O reproducer for playing both 2- & 4-minute ‘wax’ cylinders.

Hello. Your Triumph "D" would have left the factory with a slanted carriage for the C, H, or K reproducer. Many were converted to Diamond B- or O-type carriages later by dealers and owners. It would not have had a shaver.

If your machine is actually a "D2" model, the later horizontal carriage should be fitted. The D2 had a four-weight governor and a few other features as well.

I have both available if you haven't gotten one yet. Please text or email.
