Hi all! Long time lurker here who is now getting back into the phonograph world after taking a hiatus as life got busy.

I am more of an audiophile type of collector. Because of this I am focusing on getting just one or two machines that really are fantastic.

I am interested in any Edison Triumph with 2/4 minute gearing OR an Edison Opera if the price was right. I am not a stickler for a specifically rare version of these machines, just something that is good and reliable.

Let me know what you have! I am located near Lexington, KY

Happy Holidays!
Jon

I am located in the Chicago area. Are you looking for the machine to be shipped or pick up (Chicago area)? Would you be attending the June Phonograph show in Northern IL?

I have a 2/4 minute Triumph D I would sell, but a not eager to ship it.

Hi Ron, definitely interested but no sure when I would be up that way next. Shipping is a bear, especially for a triumph. I'll send you an email in a bit.

One of those Triumphs on 4-4time.com has 2 and 4 minute gearing (and less than 800 dollars too). It only comes with a model C reproducer, but you could easily get an H or buy a K. That’s a great deal and a very versatile machine. I’ve bought from them many times and their shipping is always perfect. Definitely consider them. An Opera is way more expensive and less versatile, but still an elegant machine. I say go for a Triumph first.

I’ve been chatting with John at 4 4 Time. Great guy! Just trying to get all my options before going with one.

If you are an audiophile, a 2/4 minute Triumph with large carriage is probably your best option. They are not overly expensive and with a model O and Diamond B reproducers you can listen to most anything in high fidelity.
